What happens when you are called in to identify an issue and you have little to no access to source or production servers? How do you get all the rich debug information when you don’t have Visual Studio Ultimate Edition and the premium debugging features at your finger tips? How do the support engineers at Microsoft read a crash dump?
This talk walks thru a number of demonstrations on how to identify and track down application and system issues from the outside in. We will look at remote, external debugging tools so you will know how to quickly narrow in on the source for application crashes, hangs and performance problems. The second half of the session will focus on developer operations and preparing your code for production.
Since we are not focusing on debugging PowerPoint slides we will focus on code and actual demonstrations. A slide deck will be provided for reference after the session.
