React Basics

Our monthly hands-on lab series continues on Wednesday nights at Microsoft. The next session will be held at the Microsoft Mid-Atlantic Office in Malvern, PA on November 8 from 5:30-8:00. Refreshments are provided courtesy of philly.NET.

React (from Facebook, Instagram) allows developers to create large web-applications that use data and can change over time without reloading the page. It aims primarily to provide speed, simplicity, and scalability. React processes only user interfaces in applications. This corresponds to View in the Model-View-Controller (MVC) pattern, and can be used in combination with other JavaScript libraries or frameworks in MVC.

This will be the first of four labs on React. Components, JSX, render, properties, state, and data binding are covered. You will need Visual Studio Code and Node.JS installed.

We are also broadcasting this event on Mixer. You can view it from the PhillyDotNet channel. The url is https://mixer.com/phillydotnet.

This will be our first meeting at the newly renovated MPR rooms on the second floor of the Microsot Malvern MTC.
