Our monthly hands-on lab series continues on Wednesday nights at Microsoft. The next session will be held at the Microsoft Mid-Atlantic Office in Malvern, PA on May 3 from 5:30-8:00. Refreshments are provided courtesy of philly.NET.

This will be the second installment of our Azure series of Hands On Labs.

Please be aware that for the entire lab series you will need an Azure subscription of some kind if you want to follow along. Here are your options:

• Corporate account

• Visual Studio Subscription (previously MSDN)

• BizSpark

• Partner Action Pack

• Pay as you go

You will also need Visual Studio Community or Enterprise – 2017 or 2015 w/update 3. Please have this on your system before coming to the meeting – our bandwidth is limited…

There will be seats for 30 in the main room. We will simulcast to the other rooms for a total of 75 seats.

What we’ll be doing…

If you want your content in Azure to be something more than just simple static pages, then you need some type of data source. Fortunately, Azure gives you a few choices in how you can store your data. Sure there is Azure SQL, but there are no-SQL options, like DocumentDb. There is also Azure Storage, which itself contains Table, Blob, Queue and File storage options. In this HoL, you will connect to each of these and surface the data in a web app. Finally, you will add on Azure Search to see how simple it is to find the specific record in your data.
